Loyalty programs have become a staple at convenience stores and gas stations across the country, but Wawa’s version stands out for its simplicity and genuine value. What Is Wawa’s Rewards Program?

Wawa’s Rewards program is a free loyalty program available to all customers at participating Wawa locations. At its core, the program uses a points-based system: you earn points on qualifying purchases made in-store and at the fuel pump, and those points can be redeemed for free food, beverages, and fuel discounts. There are no membership fees, no annual charges, and no hidden costs — just straightforward rewards for shopping at a store you already visit.

The points system is simple to understand. For every dollar you spend on eligible in-store purchases — including food, beverages, snacks, and other merchandise — you earn points that accumulate in your account. Fuel purchases also earn points, giving you a reason to scan your rewards card or app every time you fill up. As your points balance grows, you unlock rewards that range from free coffee and fountain drinks to discounts on hoagies, breakfast items, and fuel. The program also features rotating bonus point promotions and limited-time offers that can accelerate your earnings significantly.

One of the best aspects of Wawa Rewards is that it integrates seamlessly with the Wawa mobile app, making it easy to track your points, browse available rewards, and access digital coupons — all from your phone. How to Sign Up for Wawa’s Rewards Program

Getting started with Wawa Rewards is quick and easy. There are three ways to sign up, so you can choose the method that’s most convenient for you.

Method 1: Through the Wawa Mobile App. The most popular way to join is by downloading the free Wawa app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once installed, open the app, tap “Join Wawa Rewards,” and follow the prompts to create your account. You’ll need to provide your name, email address, phone number, and create a password. The app will generate a digital rewards card that you can scan at checkout or at the fuel pump. This is the recommended method because it gives you instant access to all program features, including mobile ordering, digital coupons, and real-time points tracking.

Method 2: On the Wawa Website. If you prefer to sign up on a computer, head to the Wawa website and navigate to the Rewards section. Fill out the registration form with your personal details, and your account will be created. You can then link it to the mobile app later for on-the-go access. For step-by-step instructions, see our guide on how to register for Wawa Rewards.

Method 3: In-Store Registration. You can also sign up at any participating Wawa location. Ask an associate for a physical Wawa Rewards card, and then register it online or through the app by entering the card number. This links the physical card to your digital account so all your purchases are tracked automatically.

How to Earn Points and Redeem Rewards

Earning points with Wawa Rewards is as simple as scanning your app or physical card at every visit. Here’s how the earning structure generally works:

In-Store Purchases: You earn points for every dollar spent on qualifying items, including hot and cold beverages, hoagies, breakfast sandwiches, soups, snacks, and packaged goods. Tobacco products, lottery tickets, gift cards, and some other restricted items are typically excluded from earning points.

Fuel Purchases: Every gallon of gas you pump at a Wawa fuel station earns you points when you scan your rewards card or app at the pump. This is one of the most valuable earning categories, especially for customers who fill up regularly. Learn exactly how to scan Wawa Rewards at the gas pump to make sure you never miss out on fuel points.

Bonus Point Promotions: Wawa frequently runs limited-time promotions that offer bonus points on select items or categories. These might include double points on coffee during a specific week, bonus points for trying a new menu item, or extra rewards during holiday periods. Keep an eye on the app’s home screen and your email inbox for these offers — they can dramatically speed up your path to free rewards.

Redeeming Rewards: Once you’ve accumulated enough points, you can redeem them directly through the app or at checkout. Rewards are organized into tiers, so smaller point balances might get you a free coffee or fountain drink, while larger balances can be redeemed for premium items like hoagies, breakfast burritos, or fuel discounts. Rewards appear automatically in your app when you qualify, and you simply select the one you want to use before your next purchase. Fuel Savings with Wawa Rewards

For many Wawa customers, the biggest draw of the Rewards program is the potential for savings at the gas pump. Wawa already offers competitively priced fuel compared to many other gas stations, and the Rewards program makes it even more affordable.

As you accumulate points through both in-store and fuel purchases, you’ll unlock cents-off-per-gallon discounts that are applied when you fill up. These fuel rewards can stack with Wawa’s already low base prices, meaning you could be paying significantly less per gallon than you would at competing stations. During promotional periods, Wawa sometimes offers accelerated fuel rewards — for example, earning extra cents off per gallon when you purchase select in-store items alongside your fill-up.

To redeem fuel rewards, simply scan your Wawa Rewards card or app at the pump before you start fueling. The discount will be applied automatically to your transaction. It’s a painless process that takes just a few seconds but can save you real money over the course of a month, especially if you have a long commute or a vehicle with a larger tank. Benefits of Wawa’s Rewards Program

Beyond the basic earn-and-redeem structure, Wawa Rewards offers several perks that make the program worth joining even if you only visit occasionally.

Exclusive Member Offers: Rewards members receive access to special promotions and digital coupons that aren’t available to non-members. These might include discounted combo deals, free add-ons with a purchase, or early access to new menu items. The app’s “Offers” tab is updated regularly, so it pays to check before every visit.

Birthday Rewards: Wawa celebrates your birthday with a special reward delivered straight to your app. It’s a small but appreciated touch that adds a personal element to the program. Make sure your birthday is entered correctly in your profile so you don’t miss out.

Purchase Tracking and History: The app gives you a clear view of your points balance, transaction history, and available rewards. This transparency makes it easy to see how close you are to your next reward and plan your purchases accordingly. No more guessing or wondering whether your points were credited — everything is visible in real time.

Mobile Ordering: While not exclusively a Rewards feature, having the app installed for Rewards also gives you access to Wawa’s mobile ordering system. You can build your hoagie, customize your coffee, or assemble a full meal from your phone and have it ready for pickup when you arrive. Combined with Rewards points, mobile ordering makes your entire Wawa experience faster and more cost-effective.

Tips for Maximizing Your Wawa Rewards

If you want to get the absolute most out of the program, here are some practical strategies to keep in mind:

1. Scan Every Single Time. It sounds obvious, but the most common mistake Rewards members make is forgetting to scan at the register or pump. Make it a habit — pull up the app before you walk in or before you start fueling. Every missed scan is lost points.

2. Watch for Bonus Point Promotions. Wawa regularly offers double or triple point events on specific products. If you were going to buy coffee anyway, timing your purchase to coincide with a bonus promotion can double your earning rate for that transaction.

3. Combine Fuel and In-Store Purchases. Since both categories earn points, filling up your tank and grabbing a drink or snack on the same visit maximizes your earning potential per trip. Some promotions even offer extra fuel discounts when you buy qualifying in-store items.

4. Complete the MyWawaVisit Survey. After making a purchase, check your receipt for a survey invitation code. Completing the MyWawaVisit survey not only gives Wawa valuable feedback but can also earn you additional rewards or entry into sweepstakes. It takes just a few minutes and is another way to get more value from your visit.

5. Keep the App Updated. Wawa periodically updates the app with new features, improved rewards, and bug fixes. Running the latest version ensures you have access to all current promotions and that your points are tracked correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Wawa’s Rewards program free to join?

Yes, Wawa Rewards is completely free. There are no membership fees, annual charges, or hidden costs. You can sign up through the Wawa app, on the website, or by picking up a physical card at any participating Wawa store. Visit our registration guide for detailed instructions.

Do Wawa Rewards points expire?

Wawa Rewards points expire 6 months after being earned (as of December 2025), so it’s important to use them before they lapse. The app will display expiration dates for any active rewards in your account. To avoid losing points, make a habit of checking your rewards balance regularly and redeeming rewards as they become available.

Can I use Wawa Rewards at the gas pump?

Absolutely. You can scan your Wawa Rewards card or app at participating Wawa fuel stations to both earn points on fuel purchases and redeem fuel discount rewards. For a step-by-step walkthrough, see our guide on how to scan Wawa Rewards at the gas pump.

What happens if I forget to scan my Rewards card during a purchase?

If you forget to scan your card or app, you may miss earning points for that transaction. Wawa’s policy on retroactively adding points can vary, so your best bet is to contact Wawa’s customer support through the app or website as soon as possible. To prevent this from happening, try to make scanning your app the very first thing you do when you approach the register or pump.

  3. I visited Wawa store onNaaman’s Road, register number 15, tax number on my receipt. Anyway, I purchased 50 packs of Marlboro gold 100’s, the wall where the cigarettes are located stated $2.30 off two packs, I asked for this promotional price, and they insisted I had it, I didn’t, I had my usual $12.50 and $1.80 cent discount. I calculated I should have received a discount of $57.50 (25 x $2.30). I left the store disappointed, did not want to hold up line any longer, should I have purchased 2 packs at a time? I do have a copy of the receipt if needed. Please get back to me either way.
